How requests are priced in WIT, which WIT is spent first, and how starter WIT works.

How requests are priced

Every model has a price in WIT per unit of work: per token for text, per image, and per second of video or audio. Prices are set from what each model costs to run and are revised when provider prices change.

  1. 01EstimateBefore a request is sent, Allwit shows its estimated cost.
  2. 02ReserveThat estimate is reserved from your balance while the request runs.
  3. 03SettleYou are charged for what the request actually used, and the rest of the reservation is released.

Which WIT is spent first

WIT that expires soonest is spent first. Today's staking allowance is used before starter WIT, and both before bought WIT, which does not expire.

Starter WIT

New wallets receive 100 WIT to try Allwit before holding any $ALL. Starter WIT is funded by the Compute Treasury's own stake and expires 30 days after it is granted.
